If you're a chocoholic then the Nestle Toll House Cafe in Halifax is perfect for you! I had a Butterfinger Mocha Frappe and a English Toffee Cookie. Best. Cookie. Ever! I may not be a chocoholic but I love cookies as much as the Cookie Monster. There are so many options for drinks and snacks at the cafe, such as cookies, crepes, ice cream, coffee, frappes, etc.
I highly suggest checking out this cafe if you're in the Halifax area. It's well worth the visit! Check out the Nestle Toll House Halifax Cafe facebook page here. I'm defintely going back for more cookies! Cheers, Bhreagh

Chef's Menu is a small restaurent in Sackville that has been open for three years and consistently gets ranked in the Coast in the Best of Halifax: Food Awards. I've eaten here many times with my Mom and we've always had incredible meals for great prices. I'm a sucker for sweet potato fries and curry mayo and these were the BEST I've had. My Mom ordered Chicken Marsala and said it was to die for. Chef's Menu has a really laid back enviroment but serves up delicious meals, which is what Sackville really needs! Head Chef Jim Gill describes it as "Sackvilles best kept secret", and I must say this is true!
My Mom and I ate together for the low cost of $30.00! If you're from Sackville, or ever in Sackville, I highly suggest hitting up this restaurant. Check out the menu here. I can certainly see why Chef's Menu is a consistent favourite at the Coast. I'll defintely be back for more. Cheers, Bhreagh I've been wanting to go to a blowdry bar for quite some time now. This past weekend I dragged my best friend to Urban 30 in downtown Halifax, which is Halifax's first blowdry bar! For $40.00 we got our hair blown out and styled for our girls night out. The average blowout takes approximately 30 minutes, but since my hair is so long it took a little bit longer. It was worth it because my hair looked amazing! The stylist used a large round brush and gave me a sleek, yet bouncy, hair-do! Check back tomorrow more more pictures from Urban 30 and my hair style.
It's definitely a place I'll try again, especially if I'm feeling too lazy to do my own hair before a night out with my girlfriends! Cheers, Bhreagh Halifax is hosting a large community festival on Saturday June 7 called 100in1day Halifax. This is a festival that asks Haligonians to create, host and/or take part in interventions (events) all over the city! It's descibes as a "citizen-driven festival that will unite people across the city to make Halifax a better place by creating acts of urban change". One of my friends is currently volunteering for this festival and has been working on outreach for quite a while. They currently have 51 interventions happening on June 7, but the ultimate goal is to have 100 in one day (cue the 100 in 1 day name). Some interventions currently ont the list of events are First Lake Cleanup (hosted by my friends boyfriend) and Self-Love Selfies. These interventions can be anything, and it's a fun way to create a larger sense of community in the HRM. If you live in the Halifax area and want to take part, have a peek at the list of Inteventions. You can even create your own and help contribute to reaching the goal of having 100 community events in one day! Also be sure to take a look at the video below for more information and be sure check out the 100in1day Halifax website, facebook page or blog. This is the first time the festival is in Halifax, so if you live in the HRM I definitely suggest reading through the intervention page and taking part in some fun activites! It's happening tomorrow, June 7, and I know I'm definitely getting involved!
Cheers, Bhreagh On Saturday myself and two friends went to a cute cafe in Dartmouth called Two If By Sea. It was my first time there and I was so excited because I'd only heard good things about the coffee and treats, especially the amazing croissants. They only bake a certain amount of treats each day, and unfortunately we got there a little too late for a croissant but I had a massive chocolate chip cookie instead. I also had one of my favourite drinks- a chai latte! It makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, and at Two If By Sea it was phenomenal.
It was a cute little date with two of my best friends, and we'll be going back numerous times this summer to drink more coffee and eat an unnecessary amount of baked goods. And, if you live in the Halifax/Dartmouth area this is a must see and try! Cheers, Bhreagh |
