My best friend and I are going to Europe in February 2014 and we're BEYOND excited! We've begun planning our trip and are booking our plane tickets very soon. My best friend is going to Belfast, Northern Ireland for a Peaceful Schools International Conference and I'm planning on meeting up with her when her conference finishes. We also have two friends going to school in Scotland and are planning on spending lots of time with them! So, I've decided I'm going to start blogging about my preparation for the trip to get me even more excited than I already am.
I love traveling, even though I haven't been to very many places yet. I love planes, people in airports always make me smile and I love knowing I'm going on an adventure! I have a very long bucket list of places I want to see and am so excited to cross Northern Ireland, and our other locations, off my list! One thing I am always certain about is the outfit I travel in and what I put in my carry on bag. I decided to create an outfit and pack my pretend carry on to show you how I travel!

This outfit was created by me on Polyvore. For clothing details, view it here.
The clothing attire changes but the general idea is always the same. When traveling I try to wear boots and my heaviest jacket because they take up too much room and weigh a lot in your suitcase. It also makes packing a little easier. I think wearing a scarf is beneficial when traveling because it keeps you warm but also doubles as a pillow when you're tired. I find regulating your temperature on a flight extremely hard so I'd rather have too much on and be able to take layers off than be struggling to keep warm. I always wear leggings or jeggings because they're just so darn comfortable! This outfit is adorable and would be so comfortable to travel in. And, how cute is the luggage!? It's on my Most Wanted List!
What's in my bag: 1. Gum / 2. Granola Bar / 3. iPod & Headphones / 4. Passport Holder / 5. Pens / 6. Camera / 7. Sunglasses / 8. Journal / 9. Bag with toiletries & makeup / 10. Sugar Lip Balm / 11. Kleenex / 12. Hand Cream / 13. Extra shoes / 14. Magazine / 15. Bag with change of clothes / 16. Empty water bottle / 17. E-Reader / All these items can be found on my Polyvore profile. View them here.
Carry On Bag: I love using a backpack as a carry on. They're very functional, everything fits nicely and they're easy to throw on your back to walk around. In this bag I always pack a complete change of clothes in case the airline loses my luggage. I also throw in mini bottles, under 100 ml, of necessary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, face wash, moisturizer, body lotion etc). I usually buy plastic bottles from the dollar store and fill them with my products but sometimes I use samples I've accumulated. Proctor & Gamble have a sampler section on their website, find it here, and they'll send you samples of products to try before purchasing. The samples change and sometimes there are none (like right now), but be patient and you'll get some great products. I'm asthmatic so I put inhalers in every bag (it ain't easy being weezy!). I bring some makeup to do touch ups, like blotting powder, blush, lipstick, mini mascara and eye shadow. I put my makeup, toiletries, and inhaler in a big plastic bag then put them all into my makeup bag. I like it all being in one place so I can pull it out when going through security. I pack my camera, chargers and cords because I don't want to be stuck without a phone, iPod or camera charger if my luggage was ever to get lost. I bring my e-reader to read and play games and I also buy magazines to skim through while in the air or waiting for my plane! I make sure to pack treats and an empty water bottle so I can save on money, even if it's just a little bit!
Packing my suitcase is a completely different story. I have to try to pack light for Europe so I don't get dinged with overweight baggage but also so I can shop! My excitement is growing for this trip! I can hardly wait!
Cheers,
Bhreagh
